Anyone acquainted with the franchise would immediately recognize the connection in the Borderlands 3 Easter Egg. Moreover, the name “Tannis” refers to Patricia Tannis, a character from the earlier games. The newly uncovered text reads like a warning message of some kind regarding her. We wondered how Mikey Neumann’s departure from Gearbox might affect the upcoming Borderlands 3, but it seems that the new game will retain connections with its predecessors.

But although Gearbox has not let the cat out of the bag regarding a possible release date, publisher Take-Two Interactive has hinted that the game will release sometime in 2018- the same year that their Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently slated to release. Moreover, a Borderlands 3 listing was recently spotted on a UK-based retailer’s website. Although we took that with a generous helping of salt, it aligns with the possibility of an announcement that could be on the way soon, considering all related factors.
